Explanation
|
|
|
The UV index is internationally standardized. It is a measure of the intensity of UV radiation reaching the earth’s surface on a horizontal area, weighted according to the risk of sunburn. The higher the UVI, the greater the potential for a damage to the eye and skin, and the less time it takes for harm to occur. This time is, however, variable for different skin types. The highest value of UVI is normally reached at noon especially on unclouded days.
